Mid-Autumn

Lanterns, mooncakes and the full moon

Free · 3 designs a day

Mid-Autumn is one of Renova's 15 occasion themes. Upload a photo of your room, house or garden, and it decorates that same space for the Mid-Autumn Festival: glowing paper lanterns in round, rabbit and star shapes, and a table with mooncakes, pomelos and a tea set under the full moon. It is for anyone planning a festival evening.

How it works

  1. Upload a photo of your room, house or garden
  2. See the result, then save it or keep going

When it helps

Use it in the weeks before the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Moon Festival, or Tết Trung Thu in Vietnam, while you decide where the evening will happen: lanterns along a balcony or a rooftop, a low table for mooncakes and tea where everyone can see the moon, or a garden lit for the children's lanterns. It works for a small flat, a family house, a terrace or a garden, so you can compare a few places before you buy lanterns.

Tips for the photo

Take the photo of the place where you will gather: a balcony, a rooftop, a patio or garden, or the living or dining room near a window. Clear everyday things off the table and the floor. Stand back to include some floor and a little ceiling or sky, because lanterns hang high and the table sits low. Hold the phone level at chest height. A daylight photo is the clearest, and an evening photo with the lamps on works too.

What it does not do

Each result is an idea shown as a picture. It keeps your furniture, walls, floor, windows, doors, plants and camera angle, and adds only what could be set out for the festival and cleared away after, though small details may shift. It shows the space at night under the full moon, so a daytime photo comes back as an evening scene. It writes no words or characters, so its lanterns carry no riddles or greetings. It does not measure your space or order lanterns or mooncakes.

Questions and answers

Is it free to try?

Yes. The free plan gives you 3 designs a day, and each decorated photo counts as one. Pro raises that to 50 designs a day and removes the watermark.

Is it the same as the Moon Festival?

Yes. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also called the Moon Festival, and in Vietnam Tết Trung Thu. The theme adds what many of these celebrations share: paper lanterns, mooncakes, pomelos and tea under the full moon.

Can I decorate a balcony, a rooftop or a garden?

Yes. Upload a photo of your balcony, rooftop, porch or garden, and it decorates the space outdoors in the same spirit, keeping the house, plants and paths as they are.

Can I choose the lanterns or the colors?

Not in this theme: Mid-Autumn has no options, so each design picks its own arrangement. Make it again from the same photo to see another version.
